BIOGRAPHY

      Pierre Feraux was born in Namur on April 1979.
At "Academy of Music of Namur", he obtained Excellence Diploma of Piano (Classes of Mrs. Delacroix and Mossiat) with the biggest distinction. In 1996-1997, he did a year of specialization in piano and obtained an Award from the City.

      In 1996, Pierre Feraux entered the Royal Conservatory of Mons and obtained in one year a "First Piano Prize" with Big Distinction and a "First Prize" of Music History. He received from that school the Superior Diplomas (Masters) in domains : piano with the Biggest Distinction and Chamber Music (Big Distinction).

      He participated in several piano's masterclasses with Abdel Rahman EL BACHA, Emmanuel AX, Pascal SIGRIST, Claude COPPENS, Helmut DEUTSCH and Evelyne BRANCART and as well in Chamber Music with Serge COLLOT and Xavier GAGNEPAIN.

      In 1998, he was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth College of Music (Waterloo, Belgium) where he obtained the Virtuosity Diploma with Big Distinction.
Later, in 2001, he was admitted at Royal College of Music (London, UK) with the pianist Yonty Solomon (disciple of Dame Myra Hess). The same year, he got a Special Award for his interpretation of Liszt's Sonata.

      As pianist, he received many Prizes and Awards in Piano Competitions : Winner of the Piano Competition "Andrée Charlier" and winner of the National "Pro Civitate" Competition, Winner of "Excellentia" Piano Competition and the "JMusiciens" contest. He's also "Lauréat" of "Nany Philippart" and "Thirionet"'s Funds.

      He's active in piano solo, chamber music and soloist as well and he's regularly invited to many Music Festivals in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, United-Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, Serbia-Montenegro, Brazil etc.

      His performances include the First Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto with the National orchestra of Belgium under the direction of Pierre Bartholomée, the Second Liszt's Concerto (Mittelsächsische Philharmonie (Germany) with Peter Gülke), Webern's Konzert with RCM Ensemble and Mignone's "Festas das Igrejas" in Brasília.

      Pierre Feraux is teacher at Dinant's Academy of Music and accompagnist at Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels. He also gave Masterclasses in Brasília (Curso de Verão) for several years.

      His CDs include large piano repertoire's masterpieces. A disc with Brazilian piano music will be release soon.
